Headteacher's Latest Updates COVID -19
18th May – School is only open to provide childcare for key workers until further notice. Advice from the government and Public Health England is still: 'Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.'
Nick Gibb (Schools Minister) "Even if you're on the list (essential key workers), think twice about sending your child in"
Gavin Williamson (Secretary of State for Education) "You should only send your child to school if you have to because your work is critical to our COVID-19 response. If you are able to keep your child at home, you should."
If you are a keyworker and you think you may have to send your child in, you must email the school by 12pm the day before. Please send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm this. Please do not send your child into school without prior arrangement. This is important in order to give us time to arrange suitable staffing. Also be aware that you may need to make your own transport arrangements as many of the escorts working on school transport are in the vulnerable adults category.
STUDENTS WORKING AT HOME
Your child should now have completed most of the original hard copy work pack that was given out a few weeks ago. Parents have now been sent by text their child's login details for our new online system where all pupils can access weekly tasks set for them by their subject teachers. If you have any issues logging on to this, please let us know via the email address above. A member of staff will contact you to help resolve these issues. Please encourage your child to complete the work set regularly. Pupils can still access all the subject links on the school website via the tab 'Work at home'. All class/year groups have a range of web links linked to the subjects they are studying including the online platforms they are regularly using when in school. Parents can also access further sites via the 'Home Schooling Sites' tab. We have also set up a series of subject support email addresses to help students and parents if specific subject support is needed. Please see the News section on this website for the email addresses or download from the Coronavirus Information tab.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS INFORMATION
If your child is in receipt of Free School Meals, you should now be receiving a weekly voucher to your email adress which can be spent at a range of supermarkets. Please download ' Free School Meals Information' from the Coronavirus Information tab for more details.
GCSE SUMMER EXAMS INFORMATION
All GCSE exams planned for this summer will no longer be going ahead. Please download 'GCSE Summer Exams' from the Coronavirus Information tab for more details.
